Negligence is a legal term implies someone’s failure to use reasonable care which results in an unintentional injury to another person. Or, In other words – doing something that generally would not be done by a reasonable person. Therefore, law says that – when a person or an organization act negligently resultantly causing injury to other person is held liable for their carelessness or failure to act. Negligence is a kind of civil wrong (Tort), but also use in criminal law.

According to the law every person owes every other person a duty to act as a reasonably prudent person under the same or similar circumstances. However, if a person or entity fails to act reasonably, means they have violated their duties, i.e. violation of law.
